*Beers, pizza and smiles will be provided - we'll also be giving away a few happy t-shirts to spread some early Christmas cheer*
Our next gathering is confirmed for the last Wednesday of this month - 27th November (fairly short notice but it's one you won't want to miss, we promise). We're just about securing a suitable space in Central London and will announce more details once we confirm later in the week.
For this event with the help of guest speakers Matt Judkins (https://twitter.com/judkinsm) and Olivia Knight (https://twitter.com/projectpatchwrk), we'll be focusing on practical advice to help fund your happy startup.
We've seen first hand how frustrating and difficult it can be when you've got the passion, drive and team to take your idea forward, all you need is the funding to make it happen.
We'll have 2 great talks based on real-life experiences of looking for funding and successfully achieving their goals.
Matt is co-founder of Made in Mind (http://www.madeinmind.co.uk/), and the business brains behind the innovative folding plug (http://www.madeinmind.co.uk/the-mu-folding-plug/). He'll be giving us a talk on the different approaches to consider when raising funds for your idea as well as teaching us how to value our business for investment purposes.
We'll also be hearing from Olivia from Patchwork Present (http://www.patchworkpresent.com) an innovative new startup with a simple idea – an alternative gift registry that lets friends come together to fund one gift that's really wanted – piece by piece. Olivia will be sharing her story of getting funding and their startup journey so far (they launched only recently).
Schedule for the eve:
7.10pm Intro from Laurence
7.15pm Olivia Knight, presenting Patchwork Present's funding story
7.45pm Matthew Judkins, giving funding advice based on real life experience
8.15pm Pizza, drinks & networking
Lots of time for questions after each speaker, if you've got an idea you're passionate about and are considering different avenues to fund your startup, come along to share experience and advice.
Hosted by our friends at Poke London (http://www.pokelondon.com), Biscuit Building, 10 Redchurch Street, London E2 7DD – a digital creative company that's been going since 2001 with no pretensions and no massive egos (unusual in the agency world!). Our kind of company :)
Beers & Pizza sponsored by Spook Studio (http://spookstudio.com/)
