For this event, we're delighted to welcome inspirational speakers from 2 amazing companies – Zurb, the interaction design studio from Silicon Valley that we've admired from afar for a long while now (in the UK as part of their 'design for people' world tour) – and Crowdwish, an innovative new startup that has been making people's wishes come true daily since it's launch earlier this year.
Learn how both of these organisations have focused on customer happiness since their launch and how you can learn how to apply these principles into your own projects. More details below...
ZURB has been practicing product design since 1998, long before people even realised they were building digital products not just websites. Yet most companies are still struggling with the concept of product design in a digital world. But they don't have to. You'll learn how you can elevate your game and design online products that everyone will want to use.
Alina Senderzon, Design Lead at ZURB Alina heads up ZURB's Design Team. As a Lead, she helps shape the work of her fellow designers. Her greatest design strength: designing balanced, structured layouts. But developing creative concepts is what really makes her tick. She loves approaching problems from unexpected angles, pushing clients to see a solution beyond what they'd originally imagined.
Following the epic response on a recent interview for our blog (http://thehappystartupschool.wordpress.com/2014/03/25/the-story-of-crowdwish-an-app-that-makes-wishes-come-true-everyday/), we're delighted to welcome Bill Griffin, founder of Crowdwish to share his journey to launch with us at our next meetup.
Crowdwish is an app that makes wishes come true (you heard that right!). Bill and the team action crowdsourced wishes - no matter how crazy - every day of the week.
Join us and Bill to hear about
• the principles and influences behind his site
• how to grow and delight your audience
• hilarious and heart-wrenching stories of the people Crowdwish has helped
• actionable plans for how Bill is scaling his idea
You'll be able to learn loads from his journey and how you can apply many of the principles to your own startup or product. The hardest part for any new venture is finding and retaining a captive audience and Bill has first-hand experience of how a new idea can take a life of it's own.
For this month's session we'll be taking over the crazy rooms of Karmarama (http://www.karmarama.com/) where Crowdwish is based.
This promises to be one of our best events yet.
