Subject: [harrypotter-507] Oh my God, you guys!
I just received an email from a U of A librarian at the Health Sciences Library. Apparently they are hosting a Harry Potter- themed exhibit in late January-early February, and they're looking for volunteers (in costume, if possible!) to help out with a kids' event on Saturday, January 28.
Here is what she sent me:
I understand that you are the president of the local Harry Potter Club. In January, the John W. Scott Health Sciences Library at the University of Alberta will be hosting a travelling exhibit titled, Harry Potters World: Renaissance Science, Magic, and Medicine. While it is here, we will be hosting a number of associated events in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. One of these events is a family activity day where we will have a series of Harry Potter themed science experiments targeted at children ages 7 through 12. These activities will fall under the themes of potions, care of magical creatures, muggle studies, owlery, and defense against the dark arts. Weve been discussing how we might build more of a Hogwarts atmosphere at the event, and wondered if you and some of the other members of the Harry Potter Club might be willing to volunteer to come in costume and interact with the kids. Do you think that might be a possibility? Please let me know.

Thanks so much for considering this request. I look forward to hearing from you!
So, anybody who would like to participate, please let me know as soon as possible and I'll pass it on!
