Directions to trailhead:
west on Redwood Road, left on Heyer, right on Cull Canyon Road, left on Crow Canyon Road to 680 north to Ygnacio Valley Road (just past 24 exit, then first right turn) to Walnut Ave (past Walnut Blvd) to 1st exit from roundabout onto Oak Grove Road, continue on Castle Rock Road one mile to brown Borges Ranch sign (just past white fence) and turn right to first parking lot on right, with public toilets.

The hike is about 7 miles along Hanna Grove to Costanoan to Lower Buck to Deer Lake to Corral Springs to Ridge Top to Briones to Borges Ranch to parking lot. Some hikers may want to hike around the Ranch buildings. There will be opportunities to find up to four geocaches.

On 1/26 the weather was sunny but cool, especially in the shade. Some trails were a bit wet due to recent rain and heavily "pock-marked" with hoof depressions. Hiking boots and poles recommended (snowshoes optional). Many beautiful views during the 360 hike.

The "climb" or elevation which some hikers want to know. My GPS read: total ascent, 2241 feet; maximum elevation, 844 feet with a start at 447 feet. So, the "climb" is 397 feet. In other words the trails are 50-50 easy to moderate. The hike should start about 9:15 and could take 4 hours with hunting for geocaches.

The entire hike is 4hours? I emailed the organizer for more information but no response. I want to plan my Saturday accordingly.

Can't wait to meet everybody. Hopefully I'll find a carpool to join. :)

Bummer. I am already signed up to go see elephant seals with the photo group on the same day. Guess I can't be in two places.
