As products evolve and design teams grow, so does user research operations and practice. In this talk, we will cover some of the most commonly held myths and misconceptions that teams and stakeholders have against conducting user research. We will look closely into the main obstacles that face teams when getting the necessary buy-in from clients and/or stakeholders to conduct proper research with actual users.

We will explore some simple tips and insights to get you alignment and wider agreement for your next design research project. Robert Zikry is a Lead User Experience Specialist at Tigerspike, based in Dubai. Sitting at the intersection of design, technology, and business – Robert is specialized in UX and product strategy, user research and design delivery within cross-functional teams. All in the spirit of helping companies deliver products that solve real user problems. For almost 3 years, he has helped Emirates Airlines improve the user experience of its flagship mobile app. And for another year, he has worked on developing user-centered strategies, setting up research operations and establishing a unified design system for KFC Middle East. Robert has also worked closely with other clients and leading brands such as Al Futtaim, OSN, PepsiCo, Meraas, Unilever and Wrigley.
