Brett Shamosh, Co-Founder & CEO, Wellapps AND Last Year's Winner of Shark Tank!
For the last 10 years, Brett Shamosh has guided the creation, management and distribution of digital content and applications for media companies such as the NHL, Oxygen, CSTV (CBS College Sports) and Tango Media. At the age of 16, Brett was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, a chronic digestive disease that impacts quality-of-life. During a flare of his disease in 2009, he developed a symptom tracking iPhone application to provide better data to his doctor and learn more about his symptoms, medications and diet. Upon recognizing the benefits, he became an interactive health evangelist to help fellow sufferers of chronic disease work closely with physicians to manage their health and wellness.

Brett won SharkTank in 2011 and Well Apps was later acquired by Medivo. Now he is back as a Panelist and ready to help the next class of founders along. Thanks Brett!

I thought four out of five presentations were strong, and the top two were outstanding. Congratulations to BriteSeed and Silver Living! (And I'm sorry I couldn't join you for drinks after but had a very early and long day on Thursday...)

Really good idea to do this.
The final selection process by applause felt a little too casual.
If I were one of the 2 final contestants, I think I'd want a more formal process.

I thought the meet-up had a really nice friendly atmosphere and a terrific panel of judges. I thought the emphasis on audience participation was very positive too.

The H2NYC Meetup is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with healthcare innovators. Individuals from early startups to established medical companies were present. Hope that last night was the first of many H2NYC Meetups that I attend.
