“There has never been a better time to be a healthtech, medtech, digital health entrepreneur”

-With last week’s announcement of Pradeep Philips (ex-Secretary of Vic Department of Health) as the new CEO of the LaunchVIC entrepreneur fund, these words were never more true.

From TEDMED, HCF Slingshot to the launch meeting for LaunchVIC… During the past several weeks, there were heaps of exciting events in the heath innovation space.

At this meeting, we are happy to have Dr. David Lester provide insights into the global health technology market.

Dr. David Lester has an extensive career in health technologies in numerous countries (Australia, US and Israel) and in numerous sectors, including Regulatory (USFDA), Pharmaceuticals (Pfizer, Pharmacia), Diagnostics (Gene Express, Theranos). Since coming back to Australia he has worked with CSIRO and Monash University as well as dabbling with a number of local medtech startups. His experience cuts across the Research, Development and Commercialisation activities of government, large corporations and startups. He is a co-founder of Inside Tracker and his present focus is as founder and CEO of NIESM Pty Ltd, a global startup that focuses on integration of wearable technologies into an open platform for the management of epilepsy. He has been and is on the Advisory Board of a number of companies in the health sector.
