Welcome to Nerd Therapy. We’re here to help. Our goal is to connect passionate technology and business professionals in our community – and for you to come away thinking, “Good talk.” With the help of our Nerds each month, we'll walk you through the intricacies of applying technology to business solutions. You’ll learn how to untangle the users from the personas and the APIs from the IPs through panel discussions led by technology experts. The Panel:

Dr. Rajiv Shah - Founder and CEO MyMeds

Dr. Shah is the Founder of MyMeds and is a Minneapolis-based nephrologist who combines frontline experiences of understanding multiple healthcare roles (patient, physician, entrepreneur) with the dedication to improving health outcomes. MyMeds is a strong believer in human-centered design and involved multiple stakeholders (patients, pharmacists, in the design of the platform.

His TEDx talk – The New Disrupters in Healthcare – Patients and Pharmacists – and his work in the adherence field have established him as a thought leader in the pharmacy world, and he is a vocal advocate for pharmacists to play a more active role on the healthcare team. Last year, he was the keynote speaker at the American Pharmacists Association, as well as for many state pharmacy associations around the country.

He received his M.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, and a B.A. in Cognitive Psychology from Boston University. He has been recognized for his work in business, medicine, and philanthropy with multiple awards, including the Virginia McKnight Binger Award in Human Service, 40 Under 40, Ten Outstanding Young Minnesotans, Leaders in Healthcare, and Real Power 50.

David Nichols, Founder, Chief Operating Officer – CareWire ( (

David founded CareWire in 2011. In his role as Chief Operating Officer he leads overall product, technology and customer success for the company. David has a demonstrated track record of bringing inventive yet practical solutions to complex business problems – particularly within quickly changing market spaces. A former UnitedHealth Group executive, David led the development of an innovative new business, UnitedHealth at Home, from ideation to $10 million-funded business case and then to commercial launch and operation. David served as director of strategic planning for CNA, where he was a consultant to the CEO and senior leadership, executing strategic analyses, M&A transactions and operational improvement projects. He was also an executive at Lante Corporation, an information technology company, and a consultant at Hewitt Associates, among other positions. David holds a BA from DePauw University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Adam Moen, Founder, Real EmPowerment Solutions

Adam Moen is founder of Real EmPowerment Solutions, creators of Marbles. Marbles iOS and android apps for people to anonymously share their challenging thoughts without the judgement (download at ( The mental health support app's thousands of users have shared over 10,000 messages and the apps are actively helping people find support and resolve their challenging thoughts. He's spent his career in healthcare operations, strategy, management, and consulting and is dedicated to helping eliminate young adult suicide.
