Wake up from your tryptophan induced post Thanksgiving slumber* and come out to photograph the holiday lights at the Lehigh Valley Zoo. Admission on a Wednesday is $11, but Chris Williams gave us $2.00 off passes!
From the zoo: " Guests will experience eight distinctly-themed display areas, popular holiday movies, a new Grinch Who-ville Scene setting, additional light tunnels, cozy fire pits, giant snow globes, a live reindeer and treat stations featuring seasonal favorites s’mores and hot chocolate, hotdog's [sic], sausage and more. All in all, Winter Light Spectacular features nearly one million energy conserving lights and surround sound music."
First: Dress for the cold. This means gloves too.
Second: Bring a tripod. Tripods get really cold in the winter (see above).
Third: Bring a remote shutter release or learn how to set your camera's timer for 2 seconds. We will be doing long exposures in the dark (but not as long as you might think).
This is a roam where you want event, though Jason is available for instruction if needed.
Visit the zoo's page here if you'd like to learn more.
*Chicken actually contains more tryptophan than turkey and has little or nothing to do with one's sleepiness after a Thanksgiving day meal. No misinformation gets posted on my watch. :)
