New Meetup: Oregon ridge dayhike/exploration

Announcing a new Meetup for The Baltimore Hiking Meetup Group!

What: Oregon ridge dayhike/exploration

When: Monday, January 18,[masked]:30 PM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Time for a short, holiday (MLK) dayhike in Oregon Ridge. I've not been there before, so this is an exporation hike as well. Apologies for the short lead time in setting this up; wanted to squeeze one more hike in, before I find out next week if I'm.....otherwise occupied for the forseeable future.

From "": "This is a pretty easy romp in the woods. It's close to Baltimore and a great place to take the kids and Fido. It's also a good place to go when you have cabin fever real bad or are trying to rehab an injury and a stationary bike or treadmill just doesn't seem to cut it for you. The starting point also offers a pretty nice Nature Center with live snakes and amphibians, an indoor beehive and numerous taxidermy displays. If you are in moderate condition it should take you no more than 2 hours to complete the longest possible circuit of 4.2 miles which is described here."

Lunch, afterwards, in the area is optional.

Fido is welcome on this hike. I will be there with the typical grey Mazda and the typical overexcited brown dog.

We'll meet at the nature center; directions are available here:,-76.6921&layer=&ie=UTF8&z=12&ll=39.515166,-76.692123&spn=0.114949,0.2314&om=1&iwloc=addr
