Distance: Approx. 4.8 miles
Difficulty: Moderate
Hiking Time: About 2 hrs. depending on pace

The Jericho road covered bridge was built in 1865 and is the only covered bridge left in either Baltimore or Harford counties. It is also listed on the haunted registry! A nice river side trail leads to the bridge and is a nice warm up for the main hike on the other side of Jerusalem road.

Facilities are available at the Mill which was built in 1772 and was in continuous operation until 1961 when the last miller died and it was acquired by the state of Maryland. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Jerusalem Mill and the surrounding village is a very nice area to visit.

We'll start on a small loop by crossing Jerusalem Road and following the white blazed trail to the covered bridge. Taking the yellow blazed trail from the bridge will take us up into a wooded area that is frequented by white tail deer and back to the Mill. From the Mill, we'll follow the white blazes NNW and follow the Little Gunpowder up toward Belair road. This portion of the hike is partially up and back. On the return, we'll branch off to the left on the blue blazed trail for a some moderate hills into the upland area and eventually merge back with the white blazed trail above the Blacksmith shop.

Blacksmithing demonstrations will take place and items made at the shop are available for purchase at the museum store which is open on weekends from 1-4 p.m.
