New Meeting: Oregon Ridge Park Hike

A former member
Announcing a new meeting for The Baltimore Hiking Meetup Group!

What: Oregon Ridge Park Hike

When: Saturday, April 26, 2:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Who should come: Hikers who are up for a MODERATE afternoon hike

Why: If you love to hike and want to explore Oregon Ridge let's go!

Meeting Description: Oregon Ridge Park Hike is a 4.2 mile Moderate Loop, though a packed dirt surface there are many sections of EXPOSED roots....the hike should take about 2 hours.

We'll be taking in Upland forest, Baisman Run, and historic structures along the way.

Since we're meeting just outside the nature center it makes sense to stop in for a moment or two...we'll get to view many live and stuffed critters that call(ed) this area home.

HIKE: If you're facing the mnature center, head toward the long wooden bridge to the LEFT to begin the Hike. While you're still on the bridge, look over at the valley below to see what's left of the iron ore pit from the mid-1800's.

LEASHED dogs are welcomed!

DIRECTIONS: Take I-83 to Exit 20, Shawan road West. Take a right (hike book says R....I recall a LEFT at Oregon Grill restaurant) on Beaver Dam Road and follow the signs to the park entrance. Once inside the park, head right at the split in the road to go to the nature center; park in the nature center parking area beyond the bathhouse. The trail starts at the end of the long wooden bridge to the left of the nature center.

RAIN will CANCEL this event
