Cushetunk Mountain Nature Preserve - The Back Way

Please join us for moderate paced hike of 5 miles, approx. 1,000 feet. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A FAST PACE HIKE. This trail begins from the parking lot off Old Mountain Road and takes you to Cushetunk Mountain Nature Preserve. The trail moves through shaded forest and along the lake shore, offering nice water views. It is well-marked and well-maintained, but be prepared for narrow and steep sections with rocks—sturdy footwear is recommended. Don’t forget to bring bug spray to protect against mosquitoes and ticks. PLEASE BRING YOUR CRAMPONS (just in case).
