Knock knock. Who's there? Hike. Hike who?
Still sweating uphill.
Soon will be Karaoke.
And the waning moon.
Hike from the American River confluence to American River Pizza in Cool. We'll end up at the Milestone Saloon where we can have fun with Karaoke.
Hike up Training Hill (.9 miles of strenuous ascent on rocks and dirt). Regroup at the top of the hill. At this time, you may order food from American River Pizza. I will have menus available. We will continue to Cool via the Olmstead Loop. At American River Pizza, you may eat there or take your food to go to Milestone Saloon, where they have Karaoke. Leave the saloon at 10 p.m. and return on the Wendell T. Robie trail back to the confluence. This is a loop hike. We will not go back down the hill.
Please don't make this your first hike.
Singing while hiking is encouraged! It helps keep the critters at bay. This is the time to practice your Karaoke!
Suggested items to bring: Bug repellent; headlamp or flashlight (pointed down, please), but we prefer to use straight moonlight as much as possible; lots of water.
Wear good hiking boots and comfortable clothes. Poles are recommended.
Dogs okay, if you don't mind tying them up outside the establishments. All other rules for dogs apply.
