Some other points of interest will be Sutro Tower, Alamo Square, the observation tower at the De Young in Golden Gate park. Also there will be some very interesting staircases along the way. This walk will go through many San Francisco neighborhoods that the typical tourist does not visit.

Lunch will be in the Haight. A suggestion is Cha Cha Cha a Carribbean tapas restaurant but we will take a vote when we get there. If you wish, you may choose to pack a lunch.
The hike is 18 miles long and about 2500 feet of elevation gain.

Street parking is free and plentiful in St Francis Wood an adjacent neighborhood to the West Portal Ave. Try parking on Santa Clara Ave near Portola Dr.
