Corner of Folsom Blvd & Iron Point Rd
Enjoy a moderately paced hike of around 9 miles over rolling terrain. Be sure to bring enough layers to keep warm. Fleming Meadow is at an elevation of around 3,600', so it will be colder than in Folsom. There might also be snow on the ground (check the announcement for details closer to the date of the hike).
Shannon will meet the group at the Folsom Park and Ride. I will meet you at the trailhead. Try to carpool if possible, as there is a parking lot for only a handful of cars.
Directions to trailhead: US 50 East to exit 60, Sly Park Rd. Turn right from the exit ramp. After 4.8 miles, turn left on Mormon Emigrant Trail. Pass Jenkinson Lake on the left then look for the sign to Fleming Meadow on the right. Turn right on Blue Gouge Rd. and drive a short distance to the parking area.
If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.
