*Some notes about finding this place....Do not use any map link above. The engine does not allow me to save a location I have manually pinpointed. Since there is no street address for this trailhead, the mapping program cannot locate it correctly. Please either follow the link below to the trail map or follow my directions if the trail map won't load on your machine (it loads on mine with no problem, but I understand others have had difficulties).*
The above link will take you to the Ford Ord Public Lands trail map. We will meet at the Creekside Trail Head. I generally come from Salinas on the 68. From the 68, exit Reservation Road and head northwest (right, when coming from Salinas). Take your first left (this is supposed to be Portola but I can't remember whether there's an actual sign). Follow this road without turning, hugging the fields on the right hand side. Continue through the Ford Ord Public Lands gate and up to the parking lots. Park in either lot, there is no fee. We'll meet in front of the gate in between the two lots.
Trails are shared with horses and mountain bikers. This is an OFF-LEASH park. Please don't forget water for yourself and your pooches!
There are some really great views of the Salinas Valley from this area.
This is about an hour and a half hike. We'll do a different loop than the one we did last time, just to keep things interesting!
If you're running late or you can't make it at the last moment, please let me know. If you post a comment I'll get it on my phone or I can be reached at 510-589-3005. Hope to see you there!
