Needs a location
Buy airfare now! $238.40. You only need to take off work two days: Fri & Tue
We're migrating south in the winter. It's Puerto Rico this year.
I don't have a plan yet but it will be an adventurous trip. We will spend a day hiking in El Yunque (http://tinyurl.com/6uu9cwn), kayaking in the Bio Bay of Vieques Island to see the sea glow under the stars. El Yunque is the only rainforest on US soil, with waterfalls and swimming holes. The remaining time we will do these activities: ziplining, horseback riding on the beach, sunset kayaking and snorkeling, and sunbathing.
The key here is that the airfare is on sale, and like all airfare sales, I don't know when it will end, sometimes a few hours, sometimes a few days. So grab it as soon as you can, not a minute later. The one I book is $238.40 on travelocity. You can also book on Orbitz.
Here are the flights details:
Fri, Nov 9, 2012 Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) to San Juan Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU)
Depart: 09:00am - Arrive: 07:33pm
Tue, Nov 13, 2012 San Juan Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU) to Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA)
Depart: 07:10pm - Arrive: 12:35am (Next day)
So if you want to go, book NOW! before the deal is gone.
Cost: Airfare - $238.40
Lodging and car rental: I'm expecting to be about $300-$350 (hopefully less). Ideally I would like airfare + lodging + car rental to be under $500 but will see how expensive Puerto Rico is.
Who can join? On most trips I know one or two people previously, but the majority I meet for the first time. So don't hesitate to sign up even if you haven't met me before. As long as you're nice and easy going, we'll get along fine.
Since I bought the airfare and invited you to join me on the trip, I learned that Puerto Rico is not all roses. Someone informed me that the place has been in turmoil with drug and gang in the past two years. I'm not too worried about this since people say DC is dangerous. I'll plan our trip around those bad neighborhoods though.
I also learned that even though it's a commonwealth of the US, they operate differently. Puerto Ricans get better services, higher priority, than us. They drive aggressively, and traffic congestion is three times worse than ours. So I'm going to rely on you guys to get us there safely (I'm Asian. I can't drive).
This may be one of our worst and best trips ever. So I need your help, from each and every one of you, to put it off. Please be independent, be patient, go with the group, go with the flow. Be on time, be ready, be alert, and be aware of your surrounding. If you fall behind, try to catch up. Help each other out. Help me out!
