Piedra Lisa Trail: Timed Hike

Departure Time: 6:00pm, please be prompt because we will leave at 6:05pm.

Cost: $3.00/vehicle (unless you have a Sandia Mountain Parking Pass).  If you don't have a pass, you need to visit the pay box right after you cross the first or maybe it is the second cattle guard on the right and pay.

Who Should Attend: All fitness levels welcomed. This is a great workout hike!

Unplugged Hike: This means that cell phones need to be turned off.

Hike Description: Piedra Lisa is rated as a moderate hike.  We will be hiking up the south side of the trail.  From the Piedra Lisa parking lot it is 0.4 miles to the trailhead and it is about 2 miles to the top with approximately 2,000ft. of elevation gain for a total of 2.4 miles (one way).

The Piedra Lisa Trail is very easy to follow. That being the case, people will be allowed to go at their own pace rather than in a large group. We will determine the turnaround time once we get to the trailhead.

Note: Since people are hiking at their own pace, you may find yourself hiking by yourself at times.

What to Bring: Water

Weather: If inclement weather looks imminent, please check this site 30 minutes prior to the start time.

Dogs: Allowed.

Sharon, sorry I got lost. Went through the stone gate past La Luz and then to the second La Luz, went back to look again, but ran out of time so I hiked the La Luz instead. Found someone else who was lost, so we hiked La uz together. It was goo, Learn something every day!
