Bring a headlamp and comfy hiking shoes or boots. What I came up with. Hiking through Finn Hill and St Edwards Park, followed by a bonfire at my house in Kenmore.
Seeing the RSVP's and the enthusiasm, I'm getting a feeling that we will have a lot of people, we will need to manage the hike and the parking to not cause problems. I would suggest that people meet around 6:30 at the Kenmore Park and Ride and carpool to the parking lot by the QFC, since if everyone drives there own car, with[masked] cars, we will have a headache. Another advantage with the park and ride is that it is reasonably close to my house. Here is the address for the park and ride, 7346 N.E. Bothell Way, Kenmore ,I will stop by it at 6:30 and load up as many as I can carry.
Haven't you ever looked through the moonlit woods and thought to yourself what a nice place this would be for a hot cocoa with friends. I'm planning on hauling a stove so that we can have cocoa with the best people and the best views. We will hike the trails at St Edwards down to the lake and back, followed by a post function BBQ and Bonfire at my house. We'll be doing an evening (approx 4-5 miles) hike through the woods. If this group is full check the other one for open spots, posted in GUGO and in PNWH&B. This is a cross posted event, I have cross posted this to the Pacific NW Hiking Group and the Get Up and Get Out Group as well as placed links in SOA. If it's full here look in the other group.
If you want to be picked up let me know and we'll work it out, otherwise just meet us in the shopping center on Juanita Drive, across the street from St Edwards Park. After the hike we will caravan to my house for the bonfire and BBQ. I expect that the BBQ and Bonfire will start at about 9:30pm and go to about midnight. Saul's cell[masked] I added my address to those of you that are only coming to the bonfire: my address if you are just coming to the bonfire[masked]th Ave NE, Kenmore, WA 98028 If you don't have GPS, then look at a map "carefully" as their are 3 60th Ave NE sections in the area and they don't connect. If you get lost, read an address or cross street and call my cell[masked] and I will be able to give you directions. The most basic directions from Lake City Way/Bothell Way/Highway 522. Head north on 61st Ave NE (right turn if coming from Bothell, left turn if coming from Seattle). Go 0.9 mile to a gentle left on to 60th. If it is a hard left or is up a steep hill then it is the wrong 60th. Go 0.2 mile to the intersection with 200th and my house will be on the right. Park in the driveway or go back 100 feet and park by the sidewalk. If you get to streets with names or with SE on the sign, then you went too far and you are in Snohomish County. My house can hold maybe 15 cars and the street another 15-20, we have about 100 people coming, so carpooling is a good idea.
