Route description: starts on Deer Creek road off of the Mountain Loop Highway a few miles east of Verlot. Entire route, except the last .5 miles, ascends a logging road with only a few semi-steep sections. The last .5 miles follows a hiking trail which is mostly flat but it can be challenging when the snow's hard and/or icy.
Recommended skill-level: advanced-beginner skiers who frequently ski logging roads such as Kendall Peak Lakes, Amabilis Mountain, etc.
Recommended ski gear: Metal edge cross country skis.
Round-trip distance: 10 miles.
Elevation gain: 1,800 feet.
Duration: 6 hours.
Drive duration from park-n-ride to trailhead: 80 mins.
Carpooling and fuel reimbursement: Riders please bring cash (10 cents per mile) to compensate your driver.
