Go ahead, make my day. All jokes aside, this is a great mountain to explore. Just past North Bend and much less traveled than other hikes in the area like Mt Si. It's about 15 miles from Sno Valley Coffee to the trailhead.
December is traditionally the month snow starts to accumulate near the top of the mountain for the witner. If it's a nice day, we will try to summit without snow shoes. If we cannot summit, there is still plenty of other places to explore like the Museum and/or the Birdhouse ledges.
From top to bottom, this is a 3,400-foot-gain and 9 miles round trip making it a strenuous hike. The trail if rocky in places, but fairly well graded considering the gain in altitude. We will probably hit some snow on the trail near the summit, so bring your traction devices (gators nice also).
Great views. Bring your cameras. Unless it's a nasty day, we will not be back to Sno Valley Coffee until 3:30 or 4:00.
**Level of Difficulty**
This is a strenuous hike. It’s slightly more difficult than Mt. Si. To enjoy this hike, you should be involved in regular exercise.
