Trail Description: Estes Cone is located 3.05 miles from the Longs Peak Trailhead on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park. A short but steep climb up this conical formation rewards hikers with panoramic views of Longs Peak, the Continental Divide, and Estes Park area:
Estes Cone is accessible from the Longs Peak Trailhead along the west side of Highway 7 between Allenspark and Estes Park. Take US 36 through Boulder to Lyons. At the end of Lyons turn left on highway 7. Follow the curvy road about 25 miles to the Longs Peak trailhead turnoff.
The trailhead is located 7.5 miles south of Estes Park on the west side of Highway 7. There is no fee for this entrance to the Park. Parking is limited and the lot fills up early in the summer season.
