Here are the directions: from US285 west of Aspen Park exit at Kennedy Gulch/Foxton Road and go under the overpass to head southeast on Foxton Road, drive 5.5 miles to the Park. The parking lot is on the west side of the road (right) and is pretty big. There is another smaller lot farther south but we will use the northern one. We will meet near the info kiosk and bridge at the south end of the parking lot. There is a pit toilet at the parking lot.
Pretty good features of this hike: Great views from the top all the way south to Pikes Peak, only hikers and equestrians are allowed on the trails.
We will hike up Oxen Draw, make the loop on Eagle's View and come down Raven's Roost. The trails are steep in places but in good condition. The view from the top makes the effort worthwhile. We will hike at photo-taking pace (not very fast).
There will be some packed snow and ice on the trail so bring your traction aids and poles. If there has been significant snow bring snowshoes. Gaiters are always good for keeping snow out of your boot tops.
Bring plenty of water to drink and dress in layers. We will have lunch in Conifer or Aspen park after the hike if you wish.
