Folks we're going back to Glenwood Springs for a few days. I'm changing the days this year so you only have to take one day off to join us. Our trip there back in Feb. was the best we have ever done there. We had great snowshoes and great food.
We'll leave Saturday morning. We'll meet at the Wooly Mammoth PnR west of town just off of I-70 at the lower end of the lot and drop off as many vehicles there as we can. We will carpool from that PnR at 8:00 am and be there early enough we can find drivers and riders. Eat lunch where ever you chose. But if you want to snowshoe with us on Saturday it's up to you to be at the trailhead (see below) on time.
The first two snowshoes are mostly easy and won't be more than 6 total miles unless you want to go further. The last one is probably moderate but shorter.
On Saturday afternoon we'll start our snowshoe in McClure Pass. To get there take Hwy. 133 about 25 miles south from Carbondale (9 miles south from Redstone) to McClure Pass. The parking lot will be on your left. We'll start our snowshoe at 1:30, or as soon as we can get there after lunch. Dinner on Saturday evening should be a pizza party in the motel's breakfast room at 7:30. I'll have to verify that.
The location of our showshoe on Sunday is to be determined.
On Sunday evening we'll have dinner at a place yet to be determined.
We'll hope to spike our way up to Hanging Lake on Monday on our way home.
And then there is always the hot springs.
