Announcing a new Meetup for Weekend Hikers...Plus!

What: Dayhike Centennial Cone Park

When: Sunday, March 7,[masked]:00 AM

Where:
Centennial Cone Park
4200 Camino Perdido
Golden, CO 80403

Folks it's suppose to be above freezing all week so we're going to go up a little higher in an attempt to stay out of the mud.

Directions to the Ward Road park-n-ride: Directions to the park-n-ride: From 44th Ave. & Ward Rd., continue north on Ward Rd. approximately .22 miles, left into the park-n-Ride. We will plan on leaving this park-n-ride at noon.

Directions to the trailhead: North Access -- Horse Trailers permitted. Take Colorado Hwy. 93 north from Golden approximately one mile to Golden Gate Canyon Rd. Travel west about 8 miles to Robinson Hill Rd. Turn left and continue to Camino Perdido, the north access road into the park. The trailhead is approximately one mile to the south.

The hike: The hike will start at roughly 1:00pm. There will be two trails from which to choose. If we have a large group we may split up and do both. Both are out and back so we'll go as far as we want and then turn around. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of elevation gain on either one from looking at the small map. There is no information on the site or in the brochure.

Dogs may bring well behaved owners on leashes.
