Tennessee Valley to Cardiac, 18ish miles

  • May 3, 2014 · 9:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

Meet at Tennessee Valley for a 9:00  DEPARTURE for a fast paced, 18ish mile hike.

Tentative route: Tennessee Valley, Coastal to Muir Beach, Muir Beach Overlook, Owl, Coastal View, lunch at top of Cardiac Hill. Return via Dipsea and Miwok.

We will be off trail in a couple of places, so there may be some poison oak to dodge. Consider wearing long pants if you are very allergic.

Water available at Muir Beach Community Center, top of Cardiac Hill, and Muir Woods.

As always, all are welcome, but please be prepared for the pace, distance and climbing.

Note, we will DEPART promptly at 9:00.

Fine print on my fast paced hikes: Our pace while moving usually averages around 2 3/4 mph. We stop for lunch, and usually take another short break or two. We regroup at trail junctions, but take few rest stops. If you like to take frequent breaks, or if you need to stop and rest on climbs, these hikes probably aren't for you. On the other hand, if you like hiking lots of hilly miles at a brisk pace, while taking in some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, please join us. If you aren’t sure you can keep up, but want to try it, please do. We won't abandon you. But, out of courtesy to the rest of the group, please bring a map, and volunteer to take a short cut if you find are struggling to keep up.

Yes, thank you Ralph! I truly enjoyed all aspects of both the hike and the people hiking. A great first Meetup experience.
