Old Time & Sequence Dancing at SEESA
[masked] Street, Edmonton
Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm - in the Program Room What is Sequence dancing?
It is basically ballroom dancing, we have:-
Smooth dances, Waltzes, Foxtrots, Quicksteps,
Latin dances, Tangos - Cha Chas, Rumbas etc. plus some old time and other novelty dances.
But, everyone does the same steps.
The advantages of this are:-
•The man is relieved of the responsibility of having to constantly plot the next element because it is already set.
•The lady also knows what comes next without having to wait for a lead. (Which is not always forthcoming; sorry guys but it is true)
•Sometimes, the dance goes against the Line Of Dance, and that's OK, because all the other dancers are doing the same thing and there is no clashing.
Ours is a very social group: not quite as stylish or demanding as regular ballroom but we have a lot of fun. This is exercise, for the body and the brain without you even knowing it.
So come on down and give it a try. The first time is free, just to see if you could enjoy it. Cost after that will be SEESA membership - $30 (for the whole year) then $2 each time you come, and $1 for the instructor.
The official minimum age for SEESA is 55 but younger people can join by invitation. Instructions, and other help provided for beginners and to others as needed, nobody is left out.
For further information contact Barbara at[masked] or Pete[masked] 8149. Or just show up & try it.
