Perseids and pow wow camping at Coal Lake South

Details

I've done this camping trip for several years because the peak display of the Perseids meteor showers always coincides with a pow wow at nearby Maskwacis. As well, there is a nearby launch that is suitable for paddling or fishing, there are multiple hiking trails in the area, and folks often find it interesting to explore Wetaskiwin just down the road.
Most campsites ($27) can hold several units, and it's easy to gather for fires ($10 load for firewood), meals or socializing in a central area. Book a campsite through https://letscamp.ca/camps/coal-lake-campground or check to see if anyone wants to share a site they've booked. Bring your own food and camping supplies. The south end of the campground offers clear views of the sky. The show is especially visible after 0100 hours on clear nights.
The pow wow is free with numerous vendors onsite. Grand Entry is generally after lunch and after supper each day.
Choose whichever activities interest you the most and get to know other campers over the weekend.
