Recurring Wednesday noon hike at PROVIN TRAILS

Good place for a walk and talk in the woods. Natural trail surface with moderate difficulty. This is a popular dog walking park so bring Fido if you want. Terrain is 40% Hilly, 60% Moderate and 10% flat so you will have 110% terrain! Perimeter  trail is .9miles (about 20 min) with many internal trails to explore as well. Number of loops depends on personal preference. Provin is just West of Robinettes on 4 mile. This is evolving into a great training loop. Trails can be icy at this time of year. Yaktracks, microspikes, etc., are recommended. Hiking poles are also helpful. We meet in the parking lot at noon.

Thanks for looking out for us. I won't be able to make a weekday noon walk for some time (I am on Spring Break). I'll plan on joining you in early June.

I walked the perimeter trail this afternoon and found it to be unsuitable for safe and enjoyable hiking. At least 75% remains covered in ice and snow. I'd say it will take another 7 - 10 days of moderate temps to return it to decent condition. I'm going to cancel tomorrow's hike (4/9/14) repost in 2 weeks (4/23/14).

I'm going to do a test run tomorrow. If little or no change from a week ago, I'll suggest this hike be postponed until further notice. Standby!

I think I'm going to give the trail a few more weeks before I return, both to let the ice melt and to let the impressive amounts of dog poop sort of settle in a little bit.
