If you have never tried Winter camping, this is a great opportunity to try it close to home.
If you have been Winter camping before, then you know just how much fun it can be!
This is car camping, so plenty of opportunity to bring what you need to stay warm, although no one has ever bailed because they got cold.
Vault toilets are available. Bring a couple gallons of water, as the water pumps may be winterized by then. Hot water will be available to make hot drinks.
Meet Friday late afternoon at Silver Creek County Park. We will be at sites 46 and 47.
Bring your tent or hammock, and set up your camp for the weekend.
Afterwards, we'll cook dinner over the campfire, and enjoy the evening together.
For those with enough adventure, bring a headlamp and we can do a short night hike.
SATURDAY: After breakfast, we can take a mid-day hike, or you can just poke around the camp and relax.
Evening dinner is usually cooked over the fire, with dutch oven cooking encouraged!
I will lead another night hike for those who want to.
SUNDAY: Break camp early afternoon Sunday by approximately 3:00pm.
Please bring your share of firewood to contribute the group, or be prepared to cut standing dead timber from the park.
Park information and Directions to the Campground can be found here:
CAMPING FEE IS $13.00 PER CAMP SITE PER NIGHT, AND WE USUALLY CAN GET 3 TENTS ON A SITE. BRING SOME CASH TO PAY YOUR FAIR SHARE PLEASE.
