We are still on for tomorrow unless it is POURING rain at 9am! A little rain won't hurt us (that's what raincoats are for!)- especially since there are lots of trees in the canyon. I always go by what the weather looks on the morning of the hike at the time the hike starts (sometimes it stops raining at the last minute). The weather report is not always right!
It's all about enjoying the wilderness! Hiking in the local canyons- mostly in the San Gabriel Mountains. All hikes will be along a stream in a canyon and at a very slow pace with lots of breaks. All hikes will be between 5-12 hours long, usually around 9 hours. The difficulty level is intermediate, but beginners are welcome if they are in good shape and have an attitude of adventure! Safety always comes first, of course.
It's recommended (but not required) that you bring the TEN ESSENTIALS on all hikes. 10 ESSENTIALS: To find your way: 1. Flashlight 2. Map of the area 3. Compass For your protection: 4. Sunglasses 5.
