New Haven Hikers' Great American Hike at Sleeping Giant

Location decided by popular vote in celebration of Democracy, in honor of Presidents' Day (February 18). America!

This Meetup will take place at Sleeping Giant State Parkwhich is a state park located in Hamden, CT.

Please wear warm layers and appropriate footwear for what will likely be cumbersome walking conditions.

$2 DONATION: Please contribute a minimum donation of two dollars towards the fee that is charged by the Meetup Website. Please email organizer directly and in advanceif you have questions or concerns regarding this suggested donation. Please also note that members who arrive without donations for any reason have always been welcomed with warmth and without question.

WHEN AND WHERE: As usual, plan to arrive five minutes early.

Meet at the big trail map at 11:55 or 12:00 and head out at five after.

    Hey Sarah and Evan, How about Hammonasset State Park? We would ideally be starting some point where we can take in Meig's Point which has a trail that extends beyond what the map shows (see attached link) : http://www.ct.gov/deep/lib/deep/stateparks/maps/hammmapcolor.pdf We could warm up for a bit in The Nature Center which remains open during the winter and is in the same area. And or get a hot beverage in town afterwards.
