Hike # 18_2009 - Mt Madonna County Park ~ 8-9 Miles

The Hike: This is an intermediate hike, although kind of an easy length of ~8miles but the climb at the start will be a challenge for beginners. See below for trail details and maps.
http://files.meetup.c...

Parking: Park in the Sprig Recreation Area just off of HWY 152. We'll start and end here. Below is a google map to help you locate the parking area.

Meeting point: Look for me in the parking lot. Call if you are running late or get lost at[masked]-1976.

Optional After hike event: Mt Madonna Inn Restaraunt. We can check it out and if does not look good we can head down toward Gilroy and explore a winery or something else?

This was my first hike, in a long time and I ran out of steam on the incline. But the group was very helpful and I had a terrific time! My back's a little sore, but I couldn't be happier. Thanks everyone! Looking forward to more hikes :).

One of the best hikes I've had. It was a grueling ascent, but I welcome a great challenge. The Miller ruins and Twin Trees were also a great treat to experience along the hike.

Mt. Madonna Park is another example of the wonderful environmental variety of the Bay Area. It was nice to share the day with a fun group.

This was a beautiful scenic hike. Good people and lush forests are a great mix! I will be sore but happy tomorrow :-)

Enjoyed the soft, mostly shady trails after the initial climb. The park held surprises like the deer pen & the mystery surrounding the lifestyles of those that lived at the abandoned Miller "estate". Great company throughout the day, too!
