About us

Welcome dear seeker of the ancient arts of hiking,

In this here companionship thou has’t found shelter for thy desire to explore the unseen wonders of Bavarian nature. We transcend in the enjoyment of climbing up to snow covered heights, smelling the aromatic odours of fresh mountain herbs and recharging mind and body with Kaiserschmarrn, beer and philosophic discourses.

    Eibsee-Ramadama (3:00h)

    Eibsee-Ramadama (3:00h)

München Hbf, 80335 Munich, Germany, Munich, BY, DE

This time it’s not a classic hike — we want to give something back and help clean up the area where we go hiking. On September 19, 2026, we join the Eibsee-Rama dama — a volunteer cleanup event organized by the Landratsamt Garmisch-Partenkirchen as part of the “Aktion Saubere Landschaft” (World Cleanup Day).
Unfortunately we will need to start early, and the journey takes longer than usual because of some repair works on the rail line. Maybe this will be fixed earlier — I’d inform the guests until the day before.

I have announced the same event as well on Munich International Hiking.

    ### What is Rama dama?

Rama dama is a Bavarian term for organized cleanup events where volunteers collect litter in public spaces. The term was coined by Munich’s mayor Thomas Wimmer in 1949, when over 7,500 volunteers helped clear war debris from Munich’s streets. Today, Rama dama events are held across Bavaria, often in connection with the international World Cleanup Day.

    ### Event Details

    • Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026
    • Time: 09:00 until 12:00 at Eibsee
    • Organizer: Landratsamt Garmisch-Partenkirchen

    ### Registration

Please register with the group by Thursday, September 17, 2026, 12:00 (better before) if you want to join. I will take care of registering with the Landratsamt (registration is required to get the free Zugspitz-Zahnradbahn tickets).

    ### What to Bring

    • Sturdy shoes
    • Weather-appropriate clothing
    • (We should get some snacks to eat)

    ### Route

We’ll walk along the Eibsee, collecting litter. The path is mostly flat, circling the beautiful Eibsee lake at the foot of the Zugspitze. We can help getting the area cleaned up. It would be nice to support the area we have our hikes in and help them clean up what others fill with their waste.
