Tell us what level hiking / walking / backpacking / climbing you are experience and / or interested in! Rate yourself -- 1 is Rail-Trail Experience, 10 is Mt. Rainier!

I am probably about a level 5 hiker. I love a good hike, but am not interested in rock climbing.

Tell us about your favorite hikes and / or times walking in the woods!

I think my favorite hikes are the ones with a bit of a challenge, a beautiful day, and good friends. I just love being in the woods.

Are you an ADK 46er? Catskill 35er? Any other hiking accomplishments you would like to share?

I hiked all the Catskill 35's in the winter and have my winter patch. I have hiked some of the 46's and would like to do more. My most extreme climb was hiking the Zugspitze in Germany with an AMC group. It was a great week of hiking in the valley and then to the top of the Zugspitze. I felt like I was on top of the world!

What other outdoor activities do you like? Water sports? Rock climbing? Backpacking? Biking? Alpine / Snowboarding / Telemark / X-Country Skiing?

In addition to hiking, I love snowshoeing, biking, down hill skiing, and kayaking.

Tell us about your best and worst time out on the trail ...

The best times on the trail are when you reach a summit with a clear view and beautiful weather. Perhaps the worst time was when we had to hike in the rain with lightning and thunder, and so much rain that you could pour the water out of your boots when you got back. But so far, all days on the trail are good unless your feet are really hurting!

I love to bike and hike. I am looking for others who enjoy the outdoors and exercise as much as I do. I am a Catskill 35er and have hiked some of the 46's. But I reallly enjoy finding outdoor acitivities in the capital area.
