Mount Wilson and Mt Zion from Chantry Flats (Level 3+, 2)

There are two options to choose for this hike.
1. Mt Wilson (Level 3+, strenuous)
Distance - 13.5 miles
Elevation Gain - 4100 ft
Time - 8 hours
From the Chantry Flats parking lot ,start the hike from the Upper Winters Creek Trail for 2 miles to reach the Hoegee's Campground. After a rest, continue on the Winters Creek Trail for 3 miles to reach the Manzanita Ridge, the continue on the Mt Wilson Toll Road for 8 miles until you reach Mt Wilson area. You can explore the various telescopes and museum and take a break at the picnic tables around the Cosmic Cafe (closed on Friday). Return via Mt Wilson toll road, Upper Winters Creek, Lower Winters Creek back to Chantry Flats.
2. Mt Zion (Level 2, moderate)
Distance: 8 miles
Elevation gain - 2000 ft
Time - 4 to 5 hours
From the Chantry Flats parking lot, start the hike from the Upper Winters Creek Trailhead for 2 miles to reach the Hoegee's Campground. Continue on the Lower Winters Creek Trail for 2 miles to reach the Mt Zion. After a break, go back via Lower Winters Creek for 4 miles back to the Chantry Flats.

PLEASE BRING:
At least 3 liters of water, snack or lunch, head net in case of swarming insects
FACILITIES: Rest rooms in Chantry Flats parking lot.
Adventure Pass, or US National Park pass, or Senior Pass is needed to be displayed when parking in the Chantry Flats parking lot.
Direction - Exit Santa Anita at the 210 Freeway. Go north at Santa Anita Ave for 5 miles, then continue to the Chantry Flats Road to the parking lot.
