The three C's of life: Choice, Chance, Change. You must make the Choice to take the Chance if you want anything to Change! ~ Anonymous
For those who find the idea of a virgin birth mind-numbing, the concept of "original sin" brain-straining, or an all-powerful and loving, yet jealous and vindictive, deity problematic, we invite you to spend time with similarly thinking folks.
HopeLines, Manhattan's church for spiritual development sans religious overhead, offers an alternative to blind faith, endless guilt, and questionable rationality.
HopeLines focuses on the wisdom teachings attributed to the ancient Master Messengers-- Siddhārtha Gautama, Mohammad, Confucius, Handsome Lake, Lao Tzu, White Buffalo Calf Woman, The Peacemaker, Ptah-hotep, Ma'at, Zoroaster, Mahavira, and Mani, to name a few. With 78% of the American population purporting some measure of Christianity, HopeLines also includes the discourses ascribed to Jesus.
Our appeal is to those for whom spiritual freedom trumps religious restraints, and the notion of God is not taboo, supernatural, human-like, or humanized.
Through the precepts of ancient Master Messengers, HopeLines' mission is to encourage ways of thinking and living that:
● Build and maintain our birthright of excellent character.
● Embody active compassion as a celebration of life and living.
● Practice innate wisdom as our alignment with the God within and without.
● Unite Mind and Spirit to actualize our awesome potential.
"We believe that our goal is to meld with the powerful, yet subtle, law of our existence:" says Rev. Alexander, facilitator of HopeLines Church, "the law of cause and effect. Some call it God."
