Keys to a Great Webinar
Using online tools such as web conferencing platforms might be a great thing to incorporate into your business to reach current or potential clients and increase people’s knowledge or awareness about your topic. But how can you use these tools effectively and make sure you’re not “lopsided lecturing” online? Picking the right platform for a webinar is one thing, figuring out how to lead a great session with it is another. In this dynamic face-to-face session you’ll learn the “keys” necessary to plan for and facilitate an effective and interactive webinar online. We’ll explore how to engage your participants, keep them focused and contributing, and gather their feedback so that you can learn and continue to grow in your facilitation practice online. Beth Cougler Blom is a self-employed facilitator and learning designer who works with various clients to design and facilitate face-to-face and online courses. She teaches people how to teach through courses such as the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) and the popular “Facilitating Learning Online” courses through Royal Roads University and BCcampus. Beth spends a lot of her time participating in meetings and facilitating learning events in synchronous online tools such as Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, Skype and Zoom. She possesses a Master of Education degree from The University of British Columbia and started and continues to run the 165-member Victoria Facilitators Group. HOST is the Home Office Support Team. We promote and support local home based businesses, small businesses and entrepreneurs in their personal and business growth.
