Sierra Club Visits the Museum of Natural Science

Summer is here and temperatures are in the mid to high 90’s to 100 degrees. What do you do if you want to meet, enjoy camaraderie, and stay cool? One way to “beat the heat” is to enjoy the museums in Houston.

On Saturday, July 12, 2025, join the Houston Sierra Club in Hermann Park at the Museum of Natural Science (MNS, 5555 Hermann Park Dr., 77030).

The MNS is across the street from the Cherie Flores Garden Pavillion, 1500 Hermann Dr. (77004). Parking is free at this location. We will meet at 9 am at the Cherie Flores Garden Pavillion at the front gate. We’ll take a short walk through the gardens to the MNS.

At the MNS, at 10 am, we will watch on the Wortham Giant Screen Theatre, “Butterfly Journey 3D”. This presentation includes Australian and Monarch butterflies and is 45 minutes long. You can either buy your ticket online or on the day of the outing. Cost of the movie is $12 for non-members and $6 for members.

After we visit the MNS, we’ll walk back through the Cherie Flores Garden Pavillion, go to lunch, and perhaps get some ice cream!

If anyone has COVID symptoms or is sick don’t come! Don’t come if you feel ill! We want everyone to be safe. By going on this outing, we potentially will be with individuals who are vaccinated/unvaccinated. It’s each person’s choice to participate in this outing.
