• Dancing at The Tipping Point Lounge at Hotel ZaZa -Memorial City Location
Hotel ZaZa at Memorial City has a live band that plays from around 6 p.m. till 10 p.m. and afterwards they switch to DJ. No cover. Park in valet and then take your valet parking ticket to the bar for a validation stamp. You won't be charged for valet parking, but you should still tip. We have designated tables in front of the band. Please meet there, and order from our 3 designated servers. This is the arrangement requested by the venue, so let's be supportive. $8 for domestic beer. Cocktails $10 and up. No baseball caps are permitted by the venue. Please update RSVP's as the date approaches. Attire: Your preference, from business casual to cocktail. Dressed up jeans are fine, too. (No baseball caps per venue dress code.) Guys... many of the ladies have expressed the desire to see the gentlemen in suit and tie, or in seasonal jackets. Please remember to treat wait staff with courtesy, and to TIP appropriately. Those not representing the group positively may be removed from future events.

  • Learn to play Texas Hold Em Poker for Free!
Have you ever wanted to learn how to play Texas Hold Em poker? Here's your chance for free! I personally play poker at Kings and Cards on Westheimer and they have ladies night on Sundays where women get in free. It's also free to play in the tournament at 7pm so you can put your newly acquired skills to work. The owner has volunteered to provide a dealer at 6pm to teach everyone how to play poker. You are welcome to stay and play in the tournament at 7pm, but not required. They are also providing free wine, cheese and crackers. Pretty cool, huh? Please update your rsvp at least 24 hours before the event so they know how many to plan for. This event is open to men and women. Just keep in mind that the lesson is free. Women can play in the tournament at 7pm for free if they choose since it's Ladies Night. Men will have to pay the $10 daily membership fee to play in in the tournament if they choose to stay and play. Please go ahead and print out this chart of poker hand rankings and familiarize yourself with them. This will give you a head start on the class. If you can't print it out, then just download it to your phone for reference. http://www.24pokersite.com/poker-hand-ranking-chart/ One more thing......please bring a few dollars in cash to tip the dealer!

  • Please take a moment to contribute to Houston Socials
Hi Socializers, Please take a moment to contribute to Houston Socials. Read on for details about our current fundraiser, and how we are thanking contributors. Contributions link: https://secure.meetup.com/houstonsocials/contribute/ (You could receive a $250 Thank You gift card for contributing toward my sister Theresa's rehabilitation fund.) I am raising funds for my sister's recovery and rehabilitation from a head-on car crash that happened on September 6, 2018. The at-fault driver was speeding in the rain and skidded into her lane. She has literally dozens of fractures from her C2 vertebrae to her feet. She will have many long months of rehab, and the at-fault driver is under-insured. To make matters worse, she had just started a new job and did not yet qualify for medical insurance coverage. Theresa was life-flighted from Victoria to the trauma center at San Antonio Military Medical Hospital (formerly Brooks) where she had undergone two surgeries, totaling about 15 hours, to set several compound fractures, pin shattered bones into place, and repair multiple lacerations. My sister, Theresa Vaughton Rojan, is a nurse and hopes to return to work after her recovery. She has been a college instructor training Certified Nurses Aids and has been an inspiration to her students and to her patients. She has an alter ego, Nina Nutt, who is a clown who attends her grandchildren's parties and also makes appearances at area nursing homes. *** 100% of contributions will be donated to a rehabilitation fund for my sister, Theresa Vaughton-Rojan. All contributors to Theresa's rehabilitation fund will be entered into a drawing for a $250 Amazon "Thank you" gift card. One drawing will be made for every $2500 received in donations. The number of drawings held will depend upon total contributions. The odds of your name being drawn for a thank you gift card depend upon the number of contributions to the rehabilitation fund that add up to $2500. For instance, 250 donations of $10 would result in odds of 1 out of 250, while 100 donations of $25 will result in odds of 1 out of 100. Another example: 50 donations of $50 would result in odds of 1 out of 50. Thank you for helping with Theresa's recovery! Sincerely, Dorothy Vaughto
