Minnesota Legislative 2018 Preview for Activists
Join the Humanists of MN Social Action Team at this 2018 Legislative Session preview. Sponsored by the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (of which we are a member organization), this event is free, but registration is required. http://www.minnesotanonprofits.org/events/2018/02/23/2018-session-line-up (Click the RSVP link on the page and continue to create an account and register under “free events.”) We will be attending with other non-profit activists to hear directly from leaders of the legislative caucuses as they share their priorities for the upcoming session, identify issues that they think will dominate the debate, and give their ideas on how nonprofits can be a resource to decision makers and their staff. Directions: Driving directions are available on the Best Western Capitol Ridge website. Free parking in the hotel parking lot is available but limited. Pay attention to parking signs as the adjacent parking lots are private and enforced. Additional parking may be available in one of the Capitol Complex parking lots. Transit: The Best Western is just a short walk from the Capitol/Rice Street Station on Metro Transit’s Green Line.

What we're about

Public Group

Meet other local Humanists, people who believe in the basic goodness of the human spirit and that the best way to live your life is by the use of reason, critical thinking, empathy, compassion and real-world knowledge.

If you believe in those principles or are interested in learning about them or want to help others learn about humanism join us for our meetings, events and social times.

We usually have a regular chapter meeting on the 3rd Saturday of the month but will send out a reminder to members when the topic/speaker is set (or check the calendar!) In addition, there are many other smaller meetups during the month!

Meetings are open to anyone who is interested in humanism and wants to meet other humanists. But if you want to get the newsletter and financially support our outreach activities, we suggest you become an HofM member by going to humanistsofmn.org and join!
