"Green" Cemetery Field Trip for End of Life Planning
Join us for a field trip to Minnesota’s first fully “green” cemetery – Prairie Oaks Memorial Eco Gardens. Natural (green) burial is now a viable option for interment of the body upon death. Or simple burial of ashes in the “eco garden” after cremation. These options emphasize simplicity and environmental sustainability – and at a lower cost than typical funeral and burial options. This cemetery is still a work-in-progress and has no building or offices on site, so we will meet at their office in St. Paul to learn about the various options offered. Then we will drive to the cemetery itself in Inver Grove Heights for a tour of the grounds. Afterwards, for those interested, we will go out for lunch in the area to socialize and continue the discussion. This field trip is the culmination of our year-long exploration of end-of-life issues. Everyone is welcome.

What we're about

Meet other local Humanists, people who believe in the basic goodness of the human spirit and that the best way to live your life is by the use of reason, critical thinking, empathy, compassion and real-world knowledge.

If you believe in those principles or are interested in learning about them or want to help others learn about humanism join us for our meetings, events and social times.

We usually have a regular chapter meeting on the 3rd Saturday of the month but will send out a reminder to members when the topic/speaker is set (or check the calendar!) In addition, there are many other smaller meetups during the month!

Meetings are open to anyone who is interested in humanism and wants to meet other humanists. But if you want to get the newsletter and financially support our outreach activities, we suggest you become an HofM member by going to humanistsofmn.org and join!
