“The Humanity of Atheism” A Discussion with August Berkshire, President of Minnesota Atheists Sunday, March 21st, 2010 6:30—8:30 p.m. Which is better: friendly atheism that seeks conversation and respect or ridiculing atheism that seeks to jar people out of their complacency and into activism? Shouldn’t we treat religious people the way we wish to be treated? What can be done to incorporate more humanism into the atheist m o v e m e n t ? August Berkshire is president of Minnesota Atheists and past vice president of Atheist Alliance International. During his 25 years as an atheist activist he has served on the boards of directors of several local and national atheist and humanist organizations. First Unitarian Society 900 Mt.
