Switzer Falls

Greetings all my next hike will be to Switzer falls. This hike is a there and back type of hike. The elevation gain/loss is 600 feet, length is 4 miles. You will need a forest service day pass for this hike. it costs $5. you can get one at REI or sports chalet or at the ranger station at clear creek. This ranger station is located at the intersection of Angeles Crest and Angeles Forest Hwys. You will drive right past it on your way to Switzers.  To get there take the 110 N to Pasadena where it ends and becomes arroyo parkway. Take the Parkway to california street and go left. Get on the 210 west, stay to the left side of the freeway to do this. Take the 210 West to Angeles Crest hwy and go toward the mountains. !/2 mile past the clear creek ranger station, this is at the intersection of angeles crest and angeles forest highways, turn right into the switzer picnic area and go to the bottom, park in the lot there, trail head starts here. further info and corrections after 10-19-13.  Hope to see you there norman

This was an outstanding hike. Switzer Falls lives up to the outstanding reputation it has garnered over the years from the numerous hikers lucky enough to hike it. I have wanted to hike Switzer for years. Norm thank you putting together this wonderful hike.

I want to do it again!

    best to all,

I RSVP'ed "Yes plus 2" because I'm hoping to bring my 2 boys but I can't guarantee that we'll make it. They like to sleep in on the only days they don't have to get up for school. If we get up on time, we'll be there though! (They seriously can keep up, don't worry about that. I've taken them on lots of adult hikes and they are usually at the front.)
