Humanists Helping the Homeless8:30 p.m., Sunday, June 16th, 2013
We are getting out there to show that those without religious affiliation aren't without social concern or compassionate action. Vicky Cortes felt the call to help. She assembled 200 Humanist-carepackages for distribution to our homeless brothers and sisters. On Sunday, June 16th at 8:30 p.m., we are parking along C St (just east of Park Blvd) and meeting in the San Diego City Collage Library. We are then going to walk to the old Central Library (9th and E St), and walk around doing direct Humanist outreach. We are going to hand out packages, and answer questions (if asked) but not proselytize. We are going to break the modern taboo of talking to strangers. We are going to get to know other people. We are going to show through action that Humanists don't just talk the talk-but we actually follow through.
We hope that you can join us
we wil also be taking donations to help future outreach endeavors.
