In February, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Ed Markey released the Green New Deal Resolution, which seeks to address climate change by creating millions of new green jobs that will decarbonize our economy. These broad brush strokes provide the framework. Now we as a society get to have a conversation about what we want the details to be. Join us for a presentation followed by Q&A.
Presenter and facilitator Justine Burt recently wrote a book called The Great Pivot: Creating Meaningful Work to Build a Sustainable Future (see http://www.appraccel.com/blog/2019/3/12/the-new-book-the-great-pivot-provides-needed-details-for-the-green-new-deal). She will give an overview of the Green New Deal from the Sunrise Movement, and present highlights of her book.

DIRECTIONS TO RENGSTORFF PARK AND THE CEDAR ROOM
Head south (away from the Bay) on Rengstorff Ave. (in Mountain View) from 101 or Central Expressway until you cross the train tracks. Then turn left at the intersection (with a traffic light) that says "Stanford Ave.-->" and
"<--Community Center". That puts you into the Community Center's parking lot. In the parking lot, veer to the right, and then turn left, and park alongside the right-hand side of the Community Center. Enter where you see the Humanist Community sign. The map of the location is shown below.
