Please tell us something about yourself and your interest in Humanism.

I am a strong advocate of religious liberty (including freedom FROM religion), civil rights, international travel, science education, evolution, the ideas borne of the Enlightenment and critical/rational thought. I firmly believe that religion is inimical to critical thinking and that it makes people act like sheep. One of my favorite quotes is by Mark Twain: "Travel is fatal to bigotry, prejudice and narrow-mindedness. Broad wholesomeness and charitable views cannot be acquired by vegetating in one tiny corner of the globe."

How did you find us? Print materials, online, word-of-mouth, or...?

Via the now-defunct secular humanist group San Diego Secular Humanist Outreach.

I've been a Freethinker and Secular Humanist for many years. I am proud to be Vice President of HFSD.
