Please tell us something about yourself and your interest in Humanism.

I slowly lost my belief in god as my faith in religion waned. My wonder in the universe has grown in the opposite direction. What seemed clear as a boy in the mountains of Arkansas concerning 'the truth' seems now little more than a befuddled mess of 'they say' rules. As a Hospice volunteer I watched in respectful awe as persons as different as can be die without the fear I incorrectly thought dying people experienced. The more I have experienced Humanists dealing with the large issues of our time, the more I identify with them.

How did you find us? Print materials, online, word-of-mouth, or...?

Internet mainly.

I think of myself as a teacher, having taught English, mainly at Mesa College, for nearly three decades. I also co-founded an educational software company. Married for 56 years, we live in La Mesa. Read and take pictures most of the time.
