This is a joint activity with Center for Inquiry Portland Meetup Group (CFI). - - - - - - - - Each month we will pick from the best-rated movies at close-in Portland discount theaters that have a place to gather before and after the show; they will have a private lot or street parking within a short walk. The day of the month will depend on the offerings; to avoid crowds, we'll schedule mostly matinees. Since your host receives the theaters' newsletters just days in advance of their new schedules, this announcement will usually arrive with less than a week's notice. See you at the flicks!

What we're about

Public Group

THE MISSION OF THE HUMANISTS OF GREATER PORTLAND is to create a thriving local community that promotes and acts upon the ideals of Humanism.

"Humanism" is a democratic and ethical life stance, which affirms that human beings have the right and responsibility to give meaning and shape to their own lives. It stands for the building of a more humane society through an ethic based on human and other natural values in the spirit of reason and free inquiry through human capabilities. It is not theistic, and it does not accept supernatural views of reality.
